There are many adjectives and phrases that can be used to describe the impact and effect of love. "Love makes the world go around" is one of them. Love is a positive driving force and a big part of things that are good in the world. Love drives world events, be they big or small, in the best possible direction whereas hate and fear have an entirely opposite effect.

Openness and sharing, thoughtfulness and giving, gentleness and immense strength characterize love. To not allow oneself to love fully and freely effectively creates a barrier to your full potential. It creates a wall between you and true happiness. You cannot become fully positively engaged in an intimate relationship unless you allow yourself to love unconditionally.

Real love does not have conditions or restrictions. It transcends all hurdles that may be encountered. Why would you not allow yourself to love in this way when it is clear that the benefits are so great?

Fear is what gets in the way of true love for a surprisingly large number of people. Fears come in many different shapes and sizes. Fear of not being loved in return, fear of getting it wrong, fear of rejection, fear of what other people think, fear or social ridicule, fear of ending up alone, fear of loss...and many variations of these themes abound.

Life presents us with many challenges but there is one that truly stands out as being paramount. To live life fully and freely we have to find a way in which to face our fears and overcome them. If we do not find our way to doing this then our fears will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Fear of loss is the main perpetrator of loss. Fear of not being loved is the main cause of not feeling loved.

If you have experienced difficulties in terms of not allowing yourself to love the most important question to ask of yourself is "What exactly are you afraid of?" It is only by truthfully answering this key question that you allow yourself to begin to contemplate facing your fears. Once you take this first step you will find that subsequent steps are a whole lot easier than previously expected.

Rejection can happen in many different ways and for many different reasons. If you can identify with a pattern whereby you feel that you have been rejected or are being rejected again and again, then it may help to as yourself two very important questions.

Are you really being rejected or do you simply feel rejected? Do you fear rejection and does that fear make you push other people away through displays of attacking or defensive actions? Bear in mind too that your attacking or defensive actions may even be carried out in a covert manner. By this I mean that you may think that you present others with a soft façade but you are feeling a little "thorny" and hostile underneath.

Fear automatically triggers a hormonal reaction in the brain; the fight, flight or freeze mechanism. If you do not act to overcome these natural and instinctive reactions to fear you will most likely find that the first encourages rejection, the second pre-empts rejection and the latter simply puts rejection on temporary hold.

To demonstrate this point let us take the example of a close spousal relationship. You are feeling rejected and fearful and you find yourself oscillating between the three responses to fear.

One minute you find things about your spouse to pick on. You focus in upon their annoying habits and start picking bones with them. You approach many conversations with an accusatory manner, epitomized by "You never…" or "You always…" This "fighting talk" is highly unlikely to get your spouse feeling loving and cozy towards you. Rather, she or he will get out of the door faster than you can say "Jack Robinson". Thus your fear becomes reality and you feel rejected.

Then another minute you feel like fleeing. You find yourself thinking, "What's the point?" and you contemplate walking out of the door and never coming back. Your spouse doesn't even know what you are thinking and probably puts your glum expression down to a bad day in the office and quietly hopes that you'll perk up soon. Let's face it, when you feel like this you are not the most relaxing and enjoyable company. And if you really do walk out, you will still feel rejected because you will think to yourself "He/She never even tried to stop me".

And the last response of freezing makes you feel like curling up in a ball and quietly licking your wounds. Once again your spouse is likely to respond with total bewilderment. He or she leaves the house in the morning wondering which of the three spouses will be there upon their return. Can they be blamed for staying late at the office?

In a relationship you can see that these types of typical instinctive reactions to fear can be terminally destructive. If your spouse is acting in a way that makes you feel unhappy the worst thing you can do is to respond in the fight, flight or freeze modes. Rather you have to take a step back and think constructively. Think about what you want to achieve and how best to reach that goal.

In a spousal relationship what you really want is most likely to be recapturing that "loving feeling" which was where it all began between the two of you. Instead of finding faults and making accusations, focus upon what you love about your partner and show them the person who they fell in love with too.

A good relationship does not hinge upon a single key factor. Rather, a good relationship requires a cocktail of ingredients that blend together in the same manner as a good recipe. Like recipes there can be variations made to the balance of ingredients that have the ability to either enhance or spoil the desired result.

Recipes can be adapted to suit a person's sensitivities, so as to avoid triggering allergies to eggs, milk, wheat and so on. They may also be adapted to suit maters of pure taste or social conditioning. Relationships require similar adaptations. A good relationship necessitates a certain amount of give and take, whilst at the same time not compromising the overall balance of the mixture.

Some people have limited taste in food and fear trying new food groups or new recipes. Others have more developed taste buds and will enjoy a wider variety of foods. Relationships can be similar in that some people are very set in their ways or fear change whilst others thrive upon change and excitement.

For a relationship to work well one of the most vital ingredients is the willingness and ability to adapt to circumstances. Being fixed, fearful or too set in your ways thus present a huge barrier to creating a good relationship. What lies beneath these traits is frequently a lack of confidence.

Confidence provides a person with what baking soda does to a regular cake mix. It allows the cake to rise and to become light and fluffy in texture. Without this seemingly insignificant ingredient, that cake remains flat, has an uninteresting texture, and is far less appealing to the palate. It is also more rigid and less flexible.

Thus what is truly the most important ingredient to bring to the relationship table is that of confidence. If you have experienced difficulties in building good relationships then it might be worth your while to consider your levels of self-confidence and self worth. Rate your self-confidence on a scale of 1 to 10 and then ask yourself what you could do to build your self-belief.

Most people do not know what they can do to help to build confidence. They just flounder around thinking that they are stuck in their rut forever unless something miraculous happens to come their way. Hypnosis could just be that miraculous thing, not because it will do the job for you, but because you can employ hypnosis to assist you in becoming more confident yourself.

This is an important distinction. Hypnosis doesn't "do it for you". You use hypnosis to make it work for you. When approached with this attitude, hypnosis is indeed a miraculous tool to be used in the building of self-confidence and in turn creating good relationships.

When you have a friend or spouse who is suffering from depression you inevitably feel more than a little helpless. You want to do something that will point them in the right direction but how do you do that and what do you do?

You can't decide whether to try to push them to "make more of an effort" or nurse them or attempt to do things for them. You try to encourage and to cajole. You try to push and to pull them back to "normal". It is easy to transition into a situation of co-dependency, or for you to become their "mother", their "nurse" or their "fixer".

Depression is difficult for an outsider to understand. You look into another person's world and see how much they have or how good their life should be. Yet that person who is suffering from depression clearly does not see things in quite the same light.

And whatever you do in your efforts to assist has an impact upon the depressed person. You are in danger of making that person feel guilty or pressurized or backed into an ever-smaller corner. They may feel that they have been "taken over" by you are your actions.

However difficult it might be for you, it is sometimes best to take a step back and allow the depressed person to deal with their issues in their own way. The most important thing to ensure is that you do not sink into a state of co-dependency whereby you are feeding the other person's depression and prolonging their suffering. If you are a "fixer" or a "pleaser" this is exactly what you are most in danger of doing.

I remember a couple where the spouse believed that the depressed person couldn't choose her clothes in the morning, couldn't choose a meal, etc. Yet when a total outsider entered the equation and told the depressed person that they had to dress themselves and must choose a meal (and prevented the spouse from taking charge of these simple actions) she managed to do both quite easily.

In addition, she quickly got a whole lot better once she discovered that she wasn't as incapable and dependent as she had previously thought. I'm not saying that this method helps everyone with depression. It does however typify the co-dependency problem.

In reality you can be there to talk things through with when they are ready and try to suggest different appropriate methods of assistance. You can keep an eye on them so that you are as aware as you possibly can be of their state of mind and protect them in this manner from going over the edge, so to speak. There are different types of depression and different degrees of depression that a sufferer experiences.

When people around you are being negative it helps to remember that you don't have to listen to or be affected by them. You do not have to respond in kind. Negativity is not successfully fought with negativity. Rather, negativity will only be successfully fought and won over by positivity.

It also helps to remember that each person is on his or her own pathway through life. Each individual person is experiencing life and responding to it in his or her own way and at his or her own level. Their behavior and actions are a result of their own beliefs and expectations that will no doubt be different from yours.

If a person says or does something that you find hurtful you will frequently find that they did not really intend you to experience it in that manner. Not everybody has reached a point in their own awareness and evolution to see things from perspectives other than their own. When you encounter a person like this, instead of feeling hurt or disappointed (which are of course negative responses) you can choose to respond in a more positive manner.

There are a range of positive responses from which you could choose. You could point out to that person in a nice way the potential impact of their actions or behavior. You could forgive them in your thoughts and wish them all the best but at the same time step back from them in flesh so as to no longer move within the reach of their negativity.

When you give the matter due consideration, there are in fact many way in which you can survive negativity through positive response and action. In contrast, the only way in which to lose is to allow yourself to respond in a negative manner.

As a friend pointed out today you will only be able to respond to such situations in a positive way if you have a strong sense of self. You have to know who you are. You have to know your own worth. This inner confidence is your true armor that deflects negativity and keeps you safe and secure in your world. It allows you to be happy and successful and to raise your head above negative influences.

The possession of a strong sense of self allows you to easily sort the wheat from the chaff. Inner self-confidence and high self esteem allows you to be relaxed and to enjoy each moment without getting upset or angry at circumstances that are outside of your control. You in effect steer your own boat instead of floating along being buffeted in each and every direction by the changing tides of life.

Self-esteem and self-confidence are not attributes that you are born with. They are learned and developed through experience. If you have been unfortunate and missed out upon that positive experience there is something you can do about it. Hypnosis is a great help in accessing your subconscious mind and implanting positive suggestions therein.

A fear of heights can be extremely debilitating depending upon how severely you are affected. Each person is unique and will experience the symptoms of fear in their own individual way.

A friend described to me how heights made her feel as if she was being "sucked into them". She vividly described the sensations she experienced as a child when venturing onto a balcony at her own family home. This particular balcony was not protected by a solid wall, but rather one horizontal railing supported by several vertical posts.

Despite being almost paralyzed by fear she felt herself being pulled towards the edge, as if she was going to be sucked through the railings and fall into the abyss below. Even as she tried to back away into the safety of the house she could feel an invisible force pulling her forwards to the edge of the railings.

Much later in life my friend now experiences these exact same sensations in situations where she is above ground level and there is some sort of open balcony or open vista unprotected by a solid wall. So long as she cannot see "down and through" a barrier, heights do not affect her negatively in any way. In certain situations she has learned that so long as she doesn't look down, and instead keeps her line of sight directed to a distant horizon she will also be perfectly fine.

This also demonstrates how each person finds their own ways of working around their fears and finding their own way of coping. Some people manage this so well that their fears rarely affect them at all. Other people aren't so lucky and live a life whereby they feel imprisoned by their fears.

The more your fear of heights affects you the harder you tend to search for a cure. There is one big obstacle that usually gets in the way. Most people who suffer from intangible problems, like fears, tend to simply think, "This is just how I am" and "There is nothing I can do about it". Thus, despite seeking a cure and desperately wishing for a cure they secretly believe that there is no such thing.

This type of underlying belief really does create a huge barrier to finding a cure. Unnecessary fears are in the first place caused by another erroneous belief system that was originally created as a result of some past experience. The experience that lies at the root of your fear may reside in your conscious or your subconscious mind. You may or may not be consciously aware of it.

To be able to cure your fear of heights (or cure any other fear of phobia) you have to find a way in which to change these belief systems. Hypnosis is a particularly useful tool in this regard as it allows the user to access their subconscious mind. This is the part of your mind where deep-rooted beliefs and expectations are stored. It is from this inner part of your mind that your fears are triggered.

Hypnosis is natural and it is easy to use. There are no negative side effects either. If you suffer from a fear of heights why not try hypnosis?

Some lads talk about sex a lot. But does this mean that they have sexual confidence or does it really mean the opposite? Either way it can make other guys feel a little uncomfortable. If you feel unsure of your sexual abilities you inevitably find yourself fascinated by talk about sex and yet a little uncomfortable at the same time.

Sexual prowess is not something that is taught in a classroom. It is something that is built through personal experience and experimentation. Sex is something that has to be explored by each individual. Yes, guidelines, tips and ideas certainly help, but at the end of the day you have to do it to feel it.

We all know this. We also know that it's difficult to get off of the starting block if you are lacking in confidence. It's a bit if a chicken and egg situation. You need confidence to give it a go and explore sex to its fullest and in doing that you in turn build your sexual confidence. Like with anything else in life, positive reinforcement gives you a he confidence boost.

If you have experienced difficulties in getting started upon the sexual confidence ladder, or if you have experienced negative reinforcement in any way you can be left feeling that you are missing out upon one of the greatest things in life. Let's face it, sex and procreation are basic instincts for the human being. Not only that, sex is a part of the sense of bonding and closeness integral to a successful close relationship.

Your own fears and doubts are what can get in between you and your desire to be sexually confident. Hypnosis is a great way in which a person can find a way to overcome such fears and anxieties. Hypnosis provides access to your subconscious mind that is the part of your mind where instinctive thoughts, beliefs and expectations are stored.

Thus with hypnosis you can overcome worries and fears and also explore more confident and powerful ways of thinking. You can build positive thought processes and patterns of belief and behavior through your own selective use of hypnotic suggestion.

Hypnosis is natural and easy to use. It is also a private and personal way in which you can learn to change deep-rooted thoughts and behaviors. Building sexual confidence could be as easy as listening to a hypnosis mp3 download.

Fears have the power to root a person to the spot. Fears are not only frightening, they can be totally debilitating. But there are strategies that you can utilize to enable you to step back and hold steady in the face of things that used to frighten you.

Fears should be treated with respect. Your mind triggers the emotion of fear as a means of alerting you to protect yourself from perceived and potential danger. However, just because your mind has detected what it thinks might be a potential danger, this does not mean that this danger is real. Sometimes our minds act over-zealously when focused upon self-protection.

In view of this, many fears may be rationalized and released, purely by stepping back and looking at matters from a different angle. In many cases you will be aware that you are experiencing the effects of fear in a situation that you consciously know should not be triggering this automatic response.

For example, you might be afraid of having an injection or vaccination. You might get really anxious about taking exams or a driving test. You might be afraid of heights or of flying. Rationally, you know you shouldn’t on balance be afraid...but you are afraid, or even terrified. You will also know that no matter how much you try to rationalize your fears you cannot seem to get your mind around these feelings.

To enable you to step back and release your mental grip upon your fear, hypnosis is extremely helpful. Hypnosis allows you to relax and take a mental step back. Hypnosis also provides an easy way for you to access your subconscious mind. This is the part of your mind where instinctive thought patterns and behaviors are stored; the part where your fear triggers are stored.

Thus with hypnosis you are provided with a way in which to unlock those automated reactions to erroneously perceived threat or danger, and relax your responses. You can in this way overcome your fears and respond to situations in a calm and controlled manner. Treating fears with hypnosis is a simple and straightforward process.

Many people who seek success or happiness do not take the simplest steps to enable them to achieve their desires. One of the easiest things to do is to surround yourself with people who are already living the life you want.

Success and happiness are things that rub off upon you in a similar way to that which unhappiness and defeat can become contagious. It is therefore eminently sensible for a person to take stock of the people whom they spend time with and ensure as far as possible that they are picking up the right vibes.

This is even true in the online environment, which probably explains why so many Internet would-be entrepreneurs seek to identify who is behind a successful venture and then emulate their techniques. This can be a rather frustrating task for the uninitiated in the Internet world. Many people who would like you to think are successful may not be exactly as they seem, both on and off the Internet.

Whether in the online or the real world it is important to protect yourself from negative vibes and to become a magnet for positivity, happiness and success…unless you prefer to be miserable, that is. One of the ways in which to do this is to take reasonable care to limit the amount of time you spend around negative people or reading/watching/listening to negative "stuff".

Don't allow yourself to become one of those people who think or say, "I'm never lucky". Instead, take immediate and consistent action to put yourself into a position whereby luck has a chance to happen to you. Ensure that you are open to being happy and successful, and closed to unhappiness and defeat.

The states that you are open or closed to are closely tied to your inner beliefs and expectations that inevitably steer your thoughts one way or another. What you think about you tend to become. This is why associating with happy and successful people helps you to be similarly sunny natured and prosperous. As you spend time in their company your own thoughts are inevitably focused in a more consistently positive direction.

As you think of more positive things you feel happier and more successful and in this way open your mind to physical manifestations of these emotions. In addition to surrounding yourself with people who already live the life that you want, you can also take care to get your own mind clearly focused upon your goals.

Your mind might be short-changing you through a lack of clarity in your thinking patterns. It is important for your subconscious and your conscious thought processes to be aligned in their focus.

If you find yourself thinking "I want to be successful and happy" on the one hand but then thinking "but what if it doesn't happen?" on the other hand, then your own mind is unintentionally forming a huge barrier to your happiness and success. When fears, worries or negative expectations dampen your spirits and enthusiasm hypnosis could turn out to be your best "success friend".

Hypnosis allows you to relax and access your inner thought processes. With hypnosis you can align your conscious and subconscious beliefs and expectations and focus your entire mind clearly upon the things that you most desire.

Not every person is easy to deal with. Far from it! Some people have open, sunny and easy-going personalities whilst others remain constantly shielded by a potentially prickly outer shell.

When dealing with the more prickly type of person it pays to remember that you should never take it personality. It is just how they are. It is how they respond in general, not just towards you. In remembering this basic fact you immediately avoid being rubbed up the wrong way or moving into a defensive mode. Either of these reactions would only serve to make matters worse.

The key factor to appreciate when dealing with prickly people is that everyone has their own viewpoint and their own reasons for being how they are. Thinking in terms of what is fair, right, morally correct and the likes doesn't help you to understand the other person.

Trying to see things through their eyes, on the other hand, will give you a far greater insight into them and enable you to communicate better and create a far easier and more rewarding relationship. Stop thinking about how it "should" be and accept things are they are. And don't expect them to repay the compliment and automatically see it from your side either!

As you remain calm, relaxed and confident in yourself, you will find that your own feathers will remain unruffled even when the most difficult person is being prickly around you. You will also find it easier to identify ways in which to disarm their prickliness and get them to relax with you.

Without a sparring partner they will find it difficult to spar and eventually will give up trying to do so. A turkey cock will only put on a display when he thinks he has an interested audience.

Having confidence in yourself allows you to remain unruffled. A confident person worries little about what others think or why they are being difficult. With confidence you do not take these things personally. Rather, you can let these situations go, like water running off a ducks back.

Inevitably shy or nervous people are those who are most affected by these prickly types. Underlying shyness there is always a fear of having done something wrong. Thus the very prickliness of the other person triggers an unconscious alarm bell that in fact makes them feel both guilty and uncomfortable.

The shy person most probably realizes at a conscious level that they have done nothing wrong and that it is just the other person’s personality. But subconsciously they still feel uncomfortable, making it difficult to relax, let go and mentally step back from the situation.

Hypnosis is a very helpful tool in learning how to step back and also in building self-confidence. These are key ingredients in dealing with other people and creating good relationships.
